What you need

The Bodylake app on an iPhone, a Bodylake account and a subscription. The first month is free.

Bodylake copies the kinds of data you allow in the Apple Health app to a private database in Germany. Your AI app reads that copy and can never change it.

Connect Claude

1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
3. Name it Bodylake and paste https://mcp.bodylake.com as the MCP server URL.
4. Choose Continue, sign in with your passkey and allow Claude to read your data.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, including Free.

Connect ChatGPT

1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins.
2. Choose Add, then Add custom MCP server.
3. Name it Bodylake, paste https://mcp.bodylake.com as the server URL and keep OAuth.
4. Confirm the risk notice, choose Create as a plugin, sign in with your passkey and allow ChatGPT to read your data.

Claude Code and other AI apps

In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http bodylake https://mcp.bodylake.com, then type /mcp and choose Authenticate.

Any app that connects to remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can use https://mcp.bodylake.com. MCP is the open standard these apps use to connect to other services.

When something doesn’t work

Sign-in fails

Sign in with the passkey of your Bodylake account, on a device that has it. If your AI app still can’t connect, remove the connector and add it again.

Your AI says the connection was revoked

The app was disconnected, for example under Connected AIs in the Bodylake app. Add the connector again to use it.

Your AI says the rate limit was reached

Bodylake answers at most 60 requests per minute and 2,000 per day for each account. Wait a minute, or until the next day.

No data, or old data

In the Bodylake app, Your Data shows when your iPhone last sent data (Last Upload). The first upload of a long history takes a while. Your AI can also ask Bodylake when it last received data.

Disconnecting an AI app

In the Bodylake app, open Connected AIs and disconnect the app; it can’t read your data from then on. Remove the connector in the AI app too.

Privacy

Bodylake keeps your copy in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud in Germany, and your AI can only read it. What an AI app reads goes to its provider and falls under the provider’s terms. The details are in the privacy policy and the terms.
